The San Antonio University Outreach Center

Description and Mission Statement

The San Antonio University Outreach Center was established in August of 1988 and is a collaboration of The University of Texas at Austin and The University of Texas at San Antonio. The primary focus of University Outreach is to assist and prepare low-income and educationally disadvantaged students in their quest for a college education. Our mission is to connect students with the educational, psychological, cultural, social and financial resources to enable them to enter a college or university upon graduation from high school.

Program Highlights

The San Antonio University Outreach staff meets 9 San Antonio Independent School District schools and 2 Harlandale Independent School District schools monthly. The Center continues to emphasize the role of the parents with its regular Parent/Student Workshops. In addition to these activities, the University Outreach staff sponsors a wide variety of programs that are designated to open the door of opportunity to students and their parents.
