Jeff
![]() | I am a recent graduate (May 2008) of the Master of Arts in English program here at UTSA. My focus for most of my studies since my junior year as an undergraduate has been in some of the linguistics disciplines (dialectology, sociolinguistics, historical linguistics, and stylistics), and I have presented my research at both local and national conferences. Since 2004, I have been tutoring students in writing, first at Northwest Vista College in 2004 and 2005 and then here at UTSA. I have also begun teaching composition and literature courses at a local community college. I love working with the students who come in to the writing center because not only do I get to teach them about something I love (writing), but I also learn a lot from them. The research and passionate arguments are a thrill to read, and I love to help student learn how to express themselves more clearly in writing. Outside of work, my greatest passion is my family. I have a wonderful wife, who is also beginning to teach college, and a baby boy born last year. I am enjoying life as a husband and a father. |
