Fred Wilson - Associate Director of Operations
Fred Wilson supervises more than 20 full-time staff members who ensure the University Center –the campus living room—is clean and operational each day. In his 12th year as a UTSA employee, Fred began his career here as the program coordinator for the Methodist Student Movement. Originally focused on development of programs to counsel at-risk youth, Fred was headed to Perkins School of Theology to begin a second career as a minister. While working temporarily in the operations area of Student Activities, Fred became intrigued with the opportunity for impacting the lives of young adult college students through the work opportunities the UC offered.
Fred is impressed with the tremendous growth and maturity of today’s university students and enjoys interacting with them as they transition from freshmen to upper classmen. He says his life is enriched by the diversity of thought and culture on the UTSA campus; each student’s educational journey is both private, and shared. Fred holds a degree in criminal justice from UTSA.
