Tabitha Byrne - Assistant Director of Programming
Tabitha holds a bachelor’s of science degree in psychology from the University of Houston-Clear Lake. She initially pursued studies in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University-Galveston, but quickly developed a passion for Student Affairs and changed fields to enjoy the energy she gets working with students.
Tabitha began working at UTSA in July 2008 as the first Assistant Director for Programs in the University Center. With over 8 years of experience in Student Affairs, she has been involved with a variety of student programs such as peer advising, orientation, student organizations, commencement, Student Government Association and financial aid. Her current responsibilities include creating consistent social University Center activities that enhance the students’ experience outside of the classroom. She also advises the newly formed University Center Program Council –a student organization dedicated to providing quality programs in the University Center.
Her “children” include a dog, two cats, a turtle and a snake. Although not real children, they certainly deserve to be given the title.
