Dear Friends,
What an amazing year this has been for UTSA. Million-dollar grants have been awarded for research, there was a dedication ceremony for our new Applied Engineering and Technology Building and in the College of Sciences, the world’s most powerful microscope was installed -- a first for the United States.
We added a new master’s of architecture degree in urban and regional planning and expanded our international connections through an agreement of cooperation with the Berlin Institute of Technology. This prestigious institute will enable our students to take part in international research in the areas of engineering, sciences and architecture.
And have you seen the “We Are UTSA” television ads? If you have not, visit www.utsa.edu/we. These ads, which feature a few of our talented students, showcase the unique opportunities at UTSA and illustrate our belief that together we can make an impact on our world.
There were many additional accomplishments, as you will see in this issue of UTSA Update, and it is in large part because of your support for this university and its students.
As we end this academic year, I want to thank you for your support, and I look forward to even greater things our partnership will yield as we build a Tier One university for a Tier One city.
Enjoy reading.
