Dear Friend, As UTSA works to provide access to quality higher education for more and more students, finding space at our campuses has become a critical issue. As we expand, we realize that additional acreage is needed for academic, research, student recreation and parking facilities. Fortunately, UTSA is finalizing the purchase of an additional 125 acres near the 1604 Campus that will be used to accommodate our anticipated growth. As UTSA moves toward premier research university status, I have asked representatives of the campus community, alumni and community leaders to help us develop a strategic plan to take us to 2016. We encourage you to visit the UTSA 2006 Year of the Plan Web site and to send us your input on this important planning process. From UTSA, we wish you a happy holiday season. Ricardo Romo
