Dear Friend, We bid farewell to UT System Chancellor Mark Yudof, who was selected to lead the University of California system. Mark has been a good friend to UTSA and a tremendous leader of the UT System, and we'll miss him. Thanks go to Bexar County voters for their support in the recent visitor tax election. Their support will help fund community and UTSA sports facilities. Beginning in June, departments across the university will offer summer camps for young students. They can join in the fun in fields such as sports, archaeology, music, engineering, math and science -- and, the whole family can see what life was like for the pioneers at Texas Trails and Tales. The 37th Texas Folklife Festival is June 13-15 at UTSA's Institute of Texan Cultures. It's the best three days of cultural celebration in Texas with ethnic foods, live music, dance, arts and crafts for the whole family. Join us August 16 for the UTSA Alumni Gala with the Alumnus of the Year and Distinguished Service awards. Finally, mark your calendar for the Scholarship and Awards Dinner on October 28, where we honor remarkable South Texans and recognize supporters of the university. Have a great summer! Regards, Ricardo Romo
