Doyle/Lazor Scholarships
Two $1,000 scholarships are available to UTeach students who are student
teaching. One award will be made each semester to a qualified UTeach
student. Drs. Denise Doyle and Joe Lazor wish to support the teaching of mathematics and science, and have
provided the funding for these scholarships.
Eligibility criteria:
- UTeach student seeking certification in mathematics or science for grades
8-12, and engaged in student teaching
- Cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 on a 4-point scale
Application process:
- Complete the application form that can be downloaded from this page
- Write a 250 to 500 word essay (typed, 12-pt), describing your preparation to
date, and what you hope to learn from your student teaching experience, and
attach to your application
- Request two reference forms - 1 from one of your mathematics or science
professors, and the other from one of your education professors, and submit them
with your application. The forms can be downloaded from this page
- Application submitted to UTeach office at least 30 days before the start of
the semester within which the student will do student teaching.
