General Notices

Password Sharing

Just a friendly reminder that it is against university security policy to share your individual log-on password with others. If you need someone to access your Web site, please have them fill out a Web Custodian Application form at http://www.utsa.edu/internet).

Visit the HOP Section 8.12 (http://www.utsa.edu/hop/chapter8/8-12.cfm) for more information.

Streamline File Management

Be sure to periodically review all information on your Web site. Old information should be backed up and removed. This effort will improve Web server efficiency and minimize future miscommunication with the public. Remember, today's search engines will find it if it's there.

The Portal is Coming! The Portal is Coming!

UTSA has begun to implement a new way of doing business online with the university. Single user sign-on, personal messaging, customizable log-in pages and group chat opportunities are a few of the features that will be available when the portal comes online later this summer.

Stay tuned to http://www.utsa.edu/portal for future updates on the project.

…And While We Are At It…How’s Your Content?

Another feature that will be available later this summer will be an enterprise-wide Content Management System. This browser-based system will enable content providers an easier way to update their Web pages…little to no HTML knowledge is required.

More information about this Web publishing system can be found at http://www.utsa.edu/portal.
