Members of the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) provide a variety of educational and interactive presentations. To schedule a presentation, please contact Ryne Medina. Indicate which presentation you would prefer, the length of the presentation, the number of anticipated attendees and who will be in the audience (e.g. staff, faculty, students and/or community members). 

BIT Overview

This presentation provides an overview of the BIT, common behavioral concerns that should be reported, how to make a BIT report and campus resources. This presentation typically takes 30 minutes.

Compassion Fatigue/Secondary Trauma

This presentation provides an overview on compassion fatigue/secondary trauma as experienced by professionals. It covers how to respond to these stressors, ways to combat/reduce compassion fatigue and tools/strategies to increase self-care. This presentation can range from 30-60 minutes.

Responding to Crisis Situations

This presentation delves into crisis situations that are commonly faced within higher education. It also covers how to de-escalate these crisis situations, the resources available to our community, and how to apply these skills through role-playing exercises. This presentation typically takes 60 minutes.

Other presentations can be prepared upon request and tailored to match the needs of the situation.
