Employee Access to The Work Number

The first time you access the Work Number site you must enter a default PIN which is the last four digits of your SSN and your four digit year of birth (xxxx1950).  

Log In Instructions

You will need three pieces of information to access “The Work Number” site:

  1. Your employee ID (600XXXXXXX), which can be found on our pay slip.  If you don’t know your Employee ID, you can obtain it by visiting:  Log on to that site using your UTSA Network ID and you will be presented a screen with your basic data, which includes your UTSA Employee ID (Empl ID).
  2. The UTSA Employer Code, which is 13944.
  3. A PIN. The first time you access the Work Number site you must enter a default PIN which is the last four digits of your SSN and your four digit year of birth (xxxx1950).

Employment Data Report

An Employment Data Report (EDR) gives you the ability to see the information potentially being given out on you when a verification is requested. This report is intended to present transparency regarding your information on The Work Number and can be provided upon request. For more information visit The Work Number Employment Data Report.

File an Employee Data Dispute

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) provides consumers with the right to request and obtain information about them that Equifax Workforce Solutions maintains in The Work Number database. Equifax Workforce Solutions will provide consumers with an Employment Data Report (EDR), a copy of the information potentially given to those who request employment information. Consumers have the right to dispute the information contained in the EDR that they believe may be inaccurate or incomplete. Salary Key

If you are asked to provide a salary key as your consent you must visit:

  1. or call 1-800-367-2884
    (1-800-424-0253 for TTY if hearing impaired)
    Enter the Unversity of Texas Employer Code: 13944
    Enter your Social Security Number
    Enter your PIN# which is your Employee ID
  2. Follow the instructions to create a salary key
  3. Provide the salary key to the person seeking your proof of income, and direct them to to complete the verification process

The agency, who has been carefully screened and credentialed before gaining access to the system, uses the University of Texas San Antonio’s employer code: 13944 and your Social Security Number to look up your record on The Work Number database

The agency must provide a valid reason or permissible purpose for requesting the information, as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

The University of Texas at San Antonio’s payroll department securely transmits employment and income data to The Work Number on a regular cycle, so the information remains current.

With the above conditions met, the agency can validate your employment or income in seconds, accelerating the decision process and helping your obtain the credit you are requesting.

Obtaining Immigration Verification

The Work Number® Immigration Verification is a fast and secure way to provide proof of your employment or income to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, the U.S. Citizen and Immigration Services, or foreign government agencies or embassies who may need it. This verification may not provide all of the information needed by these entities for the processing of your request or application, but is valid for verifying your employment or income.

This verification is not suitable for use by lending institutions, credit agencies, pre-employment firms, property managers, or other “private sector” entities. It does not comply with the underwriting requirements of Fannie Mae or Freddie Mac, nor does it satisfy standards typically required for private industry verifications
