28 Days of Heart Health at UTSA

UTSA Wellness is celebrating National Heart Month by hosting a series of interactive events throughout February to keep your body active and learn how to protect your cardiovascular system. Did you know that people who have close relationships at home, work or in their communities tend to be healthier and live longer? According to the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), one reason is that we’re more successful at meeting our health goals when we work on them with others.

To inspire you to protect and strengthen you heart with the support of others, UTSA Wellness kicks of #28daysofheartatutsa with a Healthy Heart Demo Cooking Class on Friday, Feb. 3, followed by the Heart Health Fair and Walk on Friday, Feb. 10, and a series of CPR training classes.

Friday, Feb. 3, 12 p.m.

Demo Cooking Class, hosted by UTSA Nutrition and Dietetics Department
UTSA Recreation Center Room 2.204E

During our healthy cooking demonstrations, UTSA senior Jessica Barragan will demonstrate how it is just as easy to make a heart healthy meal as it is to make an unhealthy meal, and that a heart healthy meal can taste AMAZING. Complimentary and easy-to-follow recipe sheets will be provided so you can cook and enjoy at home.

NOTE: The class is limited to 15 employees. Save your spot now by emailing UTSA Wellness to pre-register.
