This month, we’re proud to highlight Eva Arroyo, a dedicated Project Manager with Real Estate and Property Management (RPM). Eva joined the team in May 2022 and quickly established herself as a key contributor to the ongoing development and growth of the university’s campuses. With a background in both business and project management, she brings expertise and passion to the projects she oversees.

Eva's journey at UTSA began as a student intern while completing her MBA and earning her Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. A proud alumna, Eva holds both a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from UTSA, and her experiences at the university have given her a deep commitment to the institution’s growth and success. "As a proud UTSA alum, it’s amazing to see how much our university is growing and changing,” she says. “I’m thrilled to be part of something that impacts so many futures and helps shape tomorrow’s leaders.”

In her role as Project Manager for Institutional Projects, Eva is responsible for overseeing a wide variety of projects, from small renovations to large-scale construction projects under $10 million. Her day typically consists of a mix of project meetings and site visits, where she manages timelines, budgets, safety protocols and communication among stakeholders.

"My role requires a mix of technical expertise, leadership, and strong communication skills to ensure everything runs smoothly and successfully," Eva explains. “I collaborate closely with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure projects are completed efficiently and in line with the university’s vision.”

One of the most fulfilling aspects of Eva’s work is witnessing the physical transformation of the campuses. "Witnessing the daily improvements and changes on campus is incredibly rewarding,” she says. “Each project is an opportunity to contribute to the university's long-term development, helping create spaces that support student success and faculty innovation.”

Eva is part of a creative and engaged team, with each person bringing different perspectives and expertise to their projects. "Our team brings together different backgrounds and experiences,” Eva mentions. “This makes us a well-rounded group, and we always have a blast working together!"

One of the aspects Eva enjoys most about her role is the variety of tasks and locations she encounters daily. "I find it fascinating that in a single day, I can go from sitting in an office to standing on a rooftop and then exploring the underground crawl space of our historic Coates Chapel, built in 1867," she says.

When not managing projects, Eva is deeply involved in her community. She’s an active PTA mom and volunteers as a Spanish translator at Oak Hills Church. Her favorite activity outside of work is cheering on her son at his baseball and basketball games, showing her support for his passions and achievements. Eva has also completed three full marathons—a testament to her perseverance, discipline and commitment to personal growth.

Eva’s passion for the university, commitment to her projects, and enthusiasm for her community make her an invaluable member of the Real Estate and Property Management team.
