About Us

Facilities is responsible for maintenance, repair, upkeep, remodeling, alterations and additions to university physical facilities, regardless of scope. This includes:

  •     General structures
  •     Mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems
  •     Infrastructure, including fire and life safety systems
  •     Roads
  •     Grounds, landscape and hardscape
  •     Equipment and modular furniture systems that affect building systems

Day-to-day building operations supported by Facilities also include essential services such as providing utilities, emergency power at designated facilities, operation of central heating and cooling plants and 24-hour first response to facility issues.

Facilities is led by the Associate Vice President of Asset Management and organized into two teams: Business and Customer Services and Operations and Maintenance.

Business and Customer Services provides support services to Facilities customers, as well as internal support for Facilities business operations. These services include contracted custodial and grounds services, communications, customer service, environmental management, the Facilities Service Center, information technology, stores (material management), quality assurance, and support activities and moves.

Operations and Maintenance is responsible for all operations and maintenance activities on campus, including a preventive maintenance program, corrective maintenance performed by skilled construction trades and vehicle maintenance. Utility Operations provides 24-hour staffing and emergency first response for emergency facilities issues.
