TRIO Student Support Services
Student Support Services (SSS) is a TRiO program that provides opportunities for academic development, assists students with basic college requirements and motivates students to successfully complete their postsecondary education. The goal of SSS is to increase the college retention and graduation rates of its participants.
SSS Provides:
- Academic tutoring
- Advice and assistance in post-secondary course selection
- Information on both the full range of student financial aid programs and financial aid applications
- Benefits and resources for locating public and private scholarships
- Economic literacy
- Application assistance for students applying for admission to UTSA from a two-year institution, to graduate or for professional programs
SSS Requirements:
Services are free to 144 enrolled undergraduate students who meet at least one of the following criteria:
- Income Eligible
- First-Generation College Student
- Documented Disability
In addition, each student must: - Be a citizen or national of the U.S. or meet the residency requirements for federal aid.
- Be committed to completing a four-year degree from UTSA
- Need Academic Assistance
