Counseling and Mental Health Resources

We understand the changes handed to us at the hands of the pandemic have been challenging for everyone. UTSA offers a variety of professional counseling and mental health resources to help those students, faculty and staff needing extra support.

For Students

Counseling and Mental Health Services has multiple ways to access services, including individual, group and referral services; and population-specific resources. Call 210-458-4140 or email counseling.services@utsa.edu.

The Center for Collegiate Recovery offers weekly virtual support meetings. Check out events like All Recovery (Mondays at 1 p.m.), SMART Recovery (Thursdays at 6 p.m.) and Alcoholics Anonymous (Fridays at 6 p.m.). Get more details for @UTSARecovery on Instagram or Twitter or via RowdyLink.

If you prefer starting out with a self-guided approach, the Therapy Assistance Online program provides strategies for coping. Log in with your UTSA email.

For Faculty/Staff

The Deer Oaks Employee Assistance Program is free for you and your dependents. The program offers a variety of confidential counseling, referral and consultation services 24 hours a day. Call 866-327-2400, use the iConnectYou app, or log on to services at Deer Oaks online (username: utsa, password: utsa).

The multidisciplinary Behavioral Intervention Team will respond to reports of distressed and concerning behavior from faculty, staff and students. UTSA’s Behavioral Concerns Assistance page has more info and will allow you to submit a report online. Both the EOS/Title IX Office and Student Conduct and Community Standards are available for consultation if you have questions or concerns prior to submitting a report. To reach SCCS email SCCS@utsa.edu.
