What's Open on Campus

UTSA has modified its operations for the remainder of the spring semester due to COVID-19. The university has moved all classes online, and the majority of faculty and staff are working remotely.

To the extent possible, campus services have been virtualized. Below is a list of campus offices and services and their operating status.

Central Receiving and Mail Services
Central Receiving

  • Central Receiving and Mail Services are continuing to receive shipments and mail but are not making deliveries. Call for specific procedures.

Counseling & Mental Health Services

  • Services are available to students via phone and video conference
  • In-person appointments are limited to students remaining in on-campus housing

Housing and Residential Life 

  • On-campus services are available only for students who have been granted an exception to remain in university residence halls.

Research Facilities and Labs

  • Limited research activity is continuing.
  • Researchers may contact Associate Vice President for Research Integrity Michelle Stevenson with any questions. 

Roadrunner Pantry

  • The Main Campus Roadrunner Pantry remains open for students who are facing food insecurity.
  • Hours are noon to 4 p.m., Monday-Friday
  • The Downtown Campus location is closed.

Student Health Services 

  • Telephone and virtual consultations available for all students
  • Limited in-person visits are available to currently enrolled students

UPS Store

  • Remains open Monday-Friday, noon to 4 p.m. for mail and package pick-up and storage. Hours are subject to change.

Academic Advising

  • Academic Advising’s physical locations are closed, but remote advising is available through email, phone or virtual (Webex) meetings.
  • Academic Advising team members are available Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Students should contact their assigned Academic Advisor for assistance or with any questions.

Academic Success Coaching
Tomas Rivera Center

  • Academic Success Coaches are meeting with students via virtual formats or over the phone

Campus Technology Store

  • The Campus Technology Store is accepting orders online and is able to ship products to clients. All orders over $100 ship free.

Career Services 

Center for Military Affiliated Students – for GI Bill and Hazlewood – all other military-affiliated questions

  • Staff are working remotely and responding to email.
  • In-person, on-campus service has been suspended, and the call center is temporarily closed.

Community Outreach & Transfer Recruitment

  • Staff are working remotely and responding to emails.
  • Transfer Specialists are meeting with students virtually.

Disability Services

  • All SDS staff are available virtually Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m
  • If on-campus services are needed, please contact office for further information.

First-Generation and Transfer Student Center

  • Peer mentoring is available online.
  • First-generation and transfer students who have been assigned a peer mentor can continue to schedule meetings by logging into their WC Online account and choosing the online meeting option.
Fiscal Services
  • RowdyPay is available 24 hours a day for payments and account information.
  • Fiscal Services representatives are available by phone, Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Email your questions from your preferred email address to Responses are delivered within 1-2 days.

Fostering Educational Success Center

  • Campus coaching is available remotely
  • Emergency funds are available to access
  • SIL is operational and accepting new referrals
  • Check the FESC Facebook page or the FESC website for updates on FESC services

  • Tutoring is available online:
    • Monday-Thursday, 9 am.-7 p.m.
    • Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
    • Sunday, 1 p.m.-6 p.m.
  • All students in supported courses have access to the Virtual Tutoring Lab through Blackboard Collaborate Ultra. No appointments are necessary.
  • Contact your instructor for help with a specific course.

One Stop

  • Talk with a One Stop counselor online or by phone to get answers about financial aid, admissions, registration and more via the new chat feature available from One-Stop Enrollment and Future Roadrunner websites Counselors are available weekdays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. (8:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Wednesdays).
  • Email your questions from your preferred email address to Responses are delivered within 2-3 days.
  • Video Appointments can be scheduled with a One Stop counselor. Appointments are available from 8:30 a.m.-noon and 2-4:30 p.m.

Orientation and Family Programs

  • All phone messages and email inquiries are receiving responses on a daily basis via email and phone.
  • The Orientation Reservation System is currently open for students to sign up for summer or fall orientation programs.
  • April and May in-person orientation programs have been converted to an online orientation program format.

Recovery Center

  • Supports students who are in recovery, struggling with substance abuse or interested in learning more.

  • Information Desk is now available to answer questions via Live Chat from 9 a.m.-6 p.m., Monday-Friday.

Supplemental Instruction– Tomas Rivera Center

  • SI is being provided for all SI Courses and is connected via Blackboard Collaborate to the assigned courses. 
  • Students can visit the Tomás Rivera Center website for more information on how to access the SI sessions.

Tech Café

  • Students, faculty and staff needing internet access and assistance with technology can call the Tech Café, Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
