Changes to UT FLEX Program Approved
Changes have recently been authorized for UT FLEX account(s) based on COVID-19 relief provisions. All UT FLEX participants with remaining balances from 2019-2020 and participants with 2020-2021 accounts will have additional flexibility with using their UT FLEX Health Care (HCRA) and Dependent Care (DCRA) Reimbursement Accounts, including extended deadlines to incur and submit claims.
2019-2020 UT FLEX HCRA and DCRA Participants
The deadline to incur expenses and/or file claims for remaining funds was extended through Aug. 21, 2021, for participants.
2020-2021 UT FLEX HCRA and DCRA Participants
Participants are allowed to make one midyear change to current election (increase/decrease contribution or drop altogether). To initiate a change, send your email request to People Excellence. Include the type of change, amount and targeted effective date. Note that requests after the 15th of each month will be effective the first of the following month. The deadline to submit your request is April 30, 2021.
Decreases and drops are limited to amounts not yet contributed. No refunds will be issued for contributions already made this plan year.
Extended deadline to incur expenses and/or file claims is Aug. 31, 2022. Participants will continue to file claims using the Maestro Portal.
2020-2021 UT Flex for Eligible Employees Who Are Not Currently Participating
Eligible employees may elect HCRA or DCRA by the April 30, 2021, deadline. To enroll, send your email request to People Excellence. Include the program type (Health Care, Dependent Day Care or both), amount of monthly contribution and targeted effective date. Note that requests after the 15th of each month will be effective the first of the following month.

As a UT Select BCBS member, UTSA employees have access to free credit monitoring services through Blue Access for Member (BAM). With an uptick in cybercrime, identity fraud and other malicious online crimes, including the filing of false worker’s compensation claims, it’s important to stay on top of your credit report.
