Enterprise Research Institutes and Centers

Logos for UT San Antonio institutes and centers are available. This toolkit provides clear guidance for using these logos across digital and print materials and offers access to the full official logo suite—including downloadable files, color and layout variations, and usage direction to ensure consistency and brand integrity.

Enterprise research institutes and centers operate outside individual colleges and schools, reporting to the Vice President for Research or the Senior Executive Vice President for Health Affairs and Health System. Logos for institutes, centers, departments and units within colleges or schools will be released in future phases of the brand transition.


Logo Suite

Logo packages (ZIP file) include multiple formats and variations for print and digital use. Always use the correct file type and color version as outlined in our brand guidelines.


Logo Versions

Logos are available in four approved configurations.

Formal
Use this version when communication requires a strong sense of institutional authority and when the full university name is important.
inverted logo
Formal – Inverted
For donor-named units only. Use this version when the communication requires a strong sense of institutional authority and when the full university name is important.
Primary horizontal logo
Primary - Horizontal
Use this version for standard communications when a horizontal orientation is better suited to the space.
primary stacked logo
Primary – Stacked
Use this version for standard communications when a vertical orientation is better suited to the space.
logo type treatment
Type Treatment
Use a type treatment when the primary parent brand logo is already present, or when listing multiple sub-brands, or the space is too small for the full logo.

File formats and color usage

  • PNG (RGB): Static image with transparent background for digital use
  • EPS and PDF (CMYK): Scalable vector formats, ideal for print materials
  • SVG (RGB): Primary format for websites and digital use

Logo Usage Guidance

Unit logos are part of the unified university brand and should be used consistently across communications and materials.

  • Use only approved logos
  • Do not alter, stretch or recreate logos
  • Maintain proper spacing and proportions
  • Use appropriate color versions

When to Use Unit Logos

Institute and Center logos may be used for:

Health Science Center Logo Guidelines

The health science center spans six professional schools, research, and patient care within UT San Antonio, forming the academic health center known as UT Health San Antonio. These logo guidelines provide direction on how to accurately and consistently use the university and health care logos across all communications.

Choosing the Appropriate Logo

Different logos serve distinct purposes depending on audience and context. Selecting the appropriate logo ensures clarity, strengthens recognition and reduces confusion.

University Logo

The UT San Antonio logo is the overarching visual brand for the institution. This mark includes the full university name and is intended for broad and national audiences.

Institute and Center Logos (Health Science Center)

Institute and center logos reinforce the unit’s connection to UT San Antonio. Use these logos when highlighting the unit’s role within the larger institution. For communications and materials not intended for patients, use the UT San Antonio logo.

The UT Health San Antonio brand defines us as a leading academic health center — dedicated to advancing the future of healthcare. This logo is used for the clinical enterprise, including all patient care, hospital, dental patient care and patient-facing communications

UT Health San Antonio institute and center logos are used for patient-facing materials and in clinic settings to identify specific care areas, specialties or services.
