Justin began his career at the UT System in 2004 before moving to UTSA in 2008. In his role, Justin is responsible for overseeing fleet, buildings, utilities and essential services. Each day brings a new set of opportunities. His duties include managing fleet and vehicle maintenance, handling electrical, structural, mechanical, signage and plumbing upkeep, overseeing preventative and minor renovations, and managing utility repairs on campus.

As a two-time UTSA alumnus, Justin shares that “working at my alma mater has been a wonderful experience.” Some of his favorite memories are watching UTSA grow and being involved in the commissioning of new buildings. For Justin, the best part of his job is the opportunity to support the Roadrunner community and make people feel secure. “We make people’s lives better,” he says.

The work completed by Justin’s team directly promotes a safe and comfortable campus environment. Plumbing and electrical maintenance prevents service failures, while managing fleet operations and vehicle maintenance guarantees safe and dependable transportation. Minor and preventative upgrades help keep campus buildings in great shape, and management of utilities promises reliable access to important services like water, HVAC and electrical power.

Outside of work, Justin enjoys spending his time outdoors sailing and fishing off the Texas coast and in local lakes. He’s especially proud to have had the privilege of fishing off the island of Saint Lucia in the eastern Caribbean.

With Justin’s dedication, experience and enthusiasm, he is an essential part of building and maintaining UTSA’s strong foundation as a great place to work, learn and discover.
