Let the Games Begin: Rowdy Games 2026

Get ready to move, connect and have some fun! This year’s Rowdy Games is coming up on Friday, April 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Created in partnership by Staff Senate and Wellness, this annual event brings staff together for a mix of friendly competition and low-key activities designed for all interests and ability levels.   

Registration is now open!  

Whether you’re looking to compete or simply take a break and recharge,  there’s something for everyone. Join a game, try a fitness session, or stop by to enjoy the atmosphere and connect with colleagues.

Volleyball Calming Corner

There will be a closing ceremony at the end of each competitive sporting event. Additionally, Rowdy Games participants can look forward to:  

  • A free Rowdy Games T-shirt  
  • Swag items (while supplies last)  
  • Medals and prizes for select activities  
  • Separate drawings: Free one-month Rec Center membership; personal massage gun  
  • Boxed lunch for the first 80 participants  

Please remember to coordinate with your supervisor in advance to ensure work coverage during the event.  

Three back-to-back movement-based group sessions hosted in a dedicated space. Register for any or all of the events that interest you!  

  • Zumba: 11:10–11:30 a.m.   
  • Yoga: 11:35–11:55 a.m.    
  • Guided Meditation: 12–12:20 p.m.      

The walking track will remain open for the full duration of Rowdy Games. Participants may walk independently or join one of our guided group walking sessions led by event facilitators.   

  • Guided Walk #1: 11:20–11:40 a.m.  
  • Guided Walk #2: 12:20–12:40 p.m.   

  Staff may join or exit the walking track at any time, and mileage-based lap tracking will be available for those seeking a personal wellness challenge.    

To support variable registration numbers, two bracket formats are prepared for each sport:    

  • Option A (4 teams): Round-robin plus the top teams advance to a single championship.    
  • Contingency* (6–8 teams): Pool play structure where each team competes in three matches. Pool winners then advance to the championship game.     

 

*If registration exceeds our predicted team and/or individual numbers .
