Madeline is a rising junior majoring in Environmental Science with a minor in Computer Science. Her interests include sustainability and conservation and would like to work for a nonprofit or governmental organization to combat climate change. She is a student representative on the UTSA Sustainability Council, where she strives to implement sustainability initiatives on campus. She was a previous Peer Mentor for the UTSA Honors College and wanted to help other students across the campus. Madeline is a San Antonio native, and in her free time likes to crochet, watch horror movies, and train her 3 mice. She is looking forward to serving as an academic peer coach for the first time!

Hello, my name is Roland Sanchez and I was born and raised here in San Antonio. So, if you're new here in San Antonio I could recommend some cool spots to hangout at. Or if you're a San Antonian, we could talk about all the cool places around town too. lol Moving forward, I love to serve the community anyway possible. I am excited to be an academic peer coach as a way to give back to the university for me last here at UTSA. So if you're having any academic troubles, I would love to help. As a non-traditional student, I know how education can be difficult at times. But there are so many tools that make school manageable on your time and your time alone.

Isabelle Cavazos, M.A.

Academic Success Coach I

Originally from central Florida, Isabelle holds a Master’s degree in Teaching English as a Second Language and previously served in instructional and academic support roles at Hillsborough Community College in Florida and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. In addition to helping students grow and succeed, her passions include literary arts and language-learning. Isabelle is excited to be a part of the Academic Success Coaching team at UTSA, and working with Roadrunners!

Heather Frazer, M.Ed.

Interim Associate Director for Academic Coaching and Academic Success Coach II

Heather is the Interim Associate Director for Academic Coaching and an Academic Success Coach with the division of Student Success. A self-described nerd, Heather is passionate about learning and lives for those “aha” moments in education. She supports undergraduate students through individual coaching sessions and workshops, as well as supervising a team of Academic Peer Coaches. She also teaches a College Success Seminar and serves on the Veteran Services Advisory Team.

When not working, Heather enjoys gardening, photography, spending time with her kids and granddaughter, and going for walkies with her pup, Benny.
