UTSA López Scholars

Lopez Scholars

This scholarship is the product of a partnership between the University of Texas at San Antonio, the Hector and Gloria López Foundation, and the UT Foundation. Together, the scholarship provides a unique opportunity for students by removing financial barriers, opening doors to new opportunities, and laying the foundation for generational wealth. We are excited to serve our students and honored to be a part of their journey here at UTSA.

How we support López Scholars

The Hector and Gloria López Scholarship is a four-to-five-year long commitment. Recipients of the scholarship receive full-payment of tuition, fees, and overall cost of attendance – including housing and meal plans. Additionally, López Scholars receive financial help with books, school supplies, health insurance, legal support, well-being services, childcare, laptops, and more. Recipients are assigned a peer mentor, academic coach, attend workshops geared towards student success and social events aimed at developing a sense of belonging on campus. Our goal is to foster success both in and out of the classroom, extending beyond UTSA into future careers.
