[ Our Why ]

The UT San Antonio Alumni Association exists to support students, bridge connections, preserve tradition, and ignite university spirit.

As a member of the first graduating class, Dr. Yvonne Katz helped shape the future of the university's alumni community from the very beginning. Following her graduation in 1974, she played a pivotal role in establishing the Alumni Association and became its first president.

Throughout her distinguished career as an educator, superintendent, and civic leader, Dr. Katz remained deeply committed to supporting UT San Antonio students and alumni. Her enduring generosity and leadership are reflected in the Katz Alumni Center, a lasting symbol of her belief in the power of lifelong Roadrunner connections.
