UTSA announces times for Spring 2022 Commencement ceremonies
The University of Texas at San Antonio has announced the dates for its Spring 2022 Commencement ceremonies. In this defining moment of their academic journeys, more than 4,000 UTSA students will be eligible to receive their degrees in one of two ceremonies scheduled on Saturday, May 14, at the Alamodome.
Preceding the Alamodome Commencement ceremonies is the Doctoral Hooding Ceremony, which will take place at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 12, in the H-E-B Student Union Ballrooms (SU 1.104/1.106). Doctoral graduates are also encouraged to attend the ceremony for their academic college on Saturday, but Thursday’s ceremony is where the hooding process takes place.
UTSA's first Commencement ceremony begins at 10 a.m. for the UTSA College for Health, Community and Policy; the UTSA College of Liberal and Fine Arts; and the UTSA College of Sciences.
The second Commencement Ceremony begins at 4 p.m., for the UTSA Carlos Alvarez College of Business; the UTSA College of Education and Human Development; the UTSA Margie and Bill Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design; and the UTSA University College.
In addition to the ceremonies, graduates are encouraged to celebrate the occasion by participating in the Commencement Drive, which will begin at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, May 13, starting at the Brackenridge (BK5) parking lot on the UTSA Main Campus.
Graduates are encouraged to dress in their Commencement regalia and decorate their vehicles for this increasingly popular twice-a-year tradition that began in spring 2020.
