UT San Antonio Ring Scholarship application opens May 1 for 2026–2027 academic year
The University of Texas at San Antonio will open applications May 1 for the 2026–2027 UT San Antonio Ring Scholarship, a competitive award that recognizes academic achievement, leadership and Roadrunner pride. Applications will remain open through May 31.
Eligible juniors, seniors and graduate students in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75 may apply. Undergraduate applicants must have completed at least 70 credit hours by the beginning of the fall semester, while graduate applicants must have completed at least 18 credit hours.
Students selected for the scholarship will receive an Official UT San Antonio Ring, provided through the university’s official ring partner, Balfour.
Now in its second year, the scholarship builds on a strong inaugural cycle in 2025–2026, when more than 200 students applied for the award. The scholarship helps expand access to the Official UT San Antonio Ring, one of the university’s most meaningful traditions.
“I believe the Ring Tradition is one of the strongest and most beloved on our campus,” said Russell Wagner, assistant vice president of alumni engagement. “By expanding access through this scholarship, we’re ensuring that more students can experience the sense of accomplishment and belonging that comes with wearing the Official UT San Antonio Ring.”
Reserved for juniors, seniors, graduate students and alumni, the ring marks an important milestone in a student’s academic journey and serves as a lasting symbol of achievement, belonging and Roadrunner pride.
