The LEAD Summer Academy is an exciting UTSA program for selected first-year students who will start their summer off with an enriching experience. The program provides opportunities for students to “take a LEAD” by enrolling in two courses, connecting with a peer mentor, developing strong academic skills, and learning about campus resources.
COVID disclaimer: For Summer 2023, the intent of the LEAD Summer Academy will be for the program to take place in person, on the UTSA Main campus. An online LEAD Academy experience is NOT an option at this time. UTSA will continue to monitor the pandemic and will make appropriate changes to the learning modality in the best interest of students’ health and safety. Regardless of the mode in which the LEAD Academy takes place, rest assure that the planning team will do everything possible to make it a meaningful experience. Regardless of the mode of instruction, LEAD students will benefit from the following:
- Earning 6 college-level credits
- Meeting with an assigned peer mentor
- Learning about campus resources
- Collaborating with other LEAD students
