The LEAD Summer Academy is an exciting UTSA program for selected first-year students who will start their summer off with an enriching experience. The program provides opportunities for students to “take a LEAD” by enrolling in two courses, connecting with a peer mentor, developing strong academic skills, and learning about campus resources.
In response to the continued developments of Covid-19, and to support the health and well-being of our university community, LEAD Summer Academy 2021 will take place ON-LINE. This means that the LEAD Summer Academy 2021 will NOT have any classes in-person on campus. Rest assured that the LEAD team and all of its partners will continue to do everything possible to make it a meaningful experience. LEAD students will be informed about any updates regarding summer 2021 courses. The structure of this program will remain similar and LEAD Students will be provided with the same benefits which include:
- Earn 6 college-level credits
- Meet with an assigned peer mentor
- Learn about campus resources
- Collaborate with other LEAD students
- Learn how to navigate online courses
in case this option is utilized in the future
- Stay safe in your own home environment
We appreciate everyone’s flexibility and patience as we make necessary changes that keep our #1 priority - our ROADRUNNERS - safe during this time, while still providing an impactful learning experience!
PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME INFORMATION ON THIS WEBSITE REFLECTS AN IN-PERSON PROGRAM, but much of it still reflects the structure of the program. If you have any specific questions, please contact the LEAD Program Manager at Cynthia.Rodriguez1@utsa.edu.
