Latest information on vaccines and campus operations Roadrunner Roadmap

Learning & Working

Learning and working on campus will largely return this semester. Digital interactions will still be a part of the UTSA experience, as we integrate lessons from the past year into classroom and office environments. UTSA continues to monitor local, state, and national health conditions to ensure the safety of all Roadrunners.

Measures may be adjusted as new information becomes available.

Birds Up, Sleeves Up!

Whether returning to campus to pursue your education, go to work, or meet up with friends, getting vaccinated is the best way to protect yourself and others. Vaccines are safe, effective, and available to all Roadrunners.

Events and Services Returning

Events are proceeding per pre-pandemic processes and procedures. All events, virtual and in person, must be entered into 25Live (space request) and RowdyLink (event details submission form) to allow for comprehensive tracking and oversight.

The Campus Rec Center, UTSA Libraries, on-campus housing and resident life, on-campus dining and the ‘Runner campus shuttle are returning to pre-pandemic operations with some adjustments.

Quarantining for Campus Residents

Students can safety self-isolate or quarantine - UTSA has a protocol in place for residents who may need to self-isolate or quarantine due to a diagnosis or exposure to COVID-19. Meals will be provided in-room for those who are in isolation/quarantine.

Work and Research

Meetings & Office Hours

Meetings and office hours can be held in person but should have a virtual option for employees working remotely.

Travel

Travel for domestic and international destinations, follow pre-pandemic procedures.

COVID-19 Related Complaints

Guidelines have been established to address COVID-19 related concerns as they are reported to UTSA. All concerns can be reported online using the Compliance Hotline or by calling (210) 458-5365.

Research is ongoing

The Research Excellence and Graduate Education Recovery Tactical Team created a Phased Recovery Plan to guide on-campus research activities. On-campus laboratories are currently open with research activities ongoing.

Feel sick, stay home

Staying home when you feel sick helps protect our campus community. If you are experiencing fever and respiratory symptoms, call your health-care provider or nurse advice line. If you must quarantine, contact your supervisor to discuss work from home arrangements, if applicable for your position. If you need to take leave due to COVID-19 concerns, learn more about the Extended Family Medical Leave Act

High-risk employee accommodations

Some individuals may need to observe ongoing physical distancing for prolonged periods of time. UTSA is providing flexible working and learning conditions for those at higher-risk or who live with or care for individuals at higher-risk.
