National Night Out

National Night Out

The National Night Out campaign is aimed at building relationships and fostering communities to come together with the police to make neighborhoods safer. Residents can get to know each other and the local police officers to learn how to improve the safety of their homes and neighborhoods. The UTSA Police Department is hosting its 7th annual National Night Out event on Oct. 4, and this year we are moving it to the residential communities. For the north side of campus, we’re joining forces with UTSA Housing and Residence Life to host a block party at Chaparral Village near the community pool. We’re holding another block party on the south side of campus at the University Oaks Apartments in the Phase III pool area. Both will be held 6 to 8 p.m.

The events are designed to help UTSA residents build relationships with each other and the UTSAPD. They will feature local vendors, free snacks, cool giveaways, and a raffle with some great prizes. TxDOT will join us to bring awareness to reducing distracted and impaired driving.

The UTSAPD encourages all citizens to connect with their local neighborhoods and apartment complexes on National Night Out to participate in local events. If your neighborhood is not holding one, contact your local police department to find out how to host a block party and other resources like Neighborhood Watch.
