Welcome Basura Bashers! Basura Bash is a one-day, all-volunteer event to clean the San Antonio Watershed. For the past 23 years volunteers have cleaned area waterways. Join us for the 24th Annual Basura Bash Waterways Cleanup.

BBash1

The event is 100% powered by volunteers. Let’s all clean it like we mean it!

Here's what you need to know to help pitch in with the Basura Bash Annual Waterways Clean-up Event:

WHAT:
Volunteers will collect trash from the banks of San Antonio area waterways. Items include recyclables, tires, metals, appliances, home items, and more.

WHY:
Trash is carried to our rivers and creeks by storm drainage, run-off, and careless human beings. This causes flooding, which risks lives and damages property.

WHEN:

  • Saturday, February 17, 2018
  • Registration:  8 a.m. (check with your clean-up leader for your site). Director of Sustainability Keith Muhlestein, PhD, will lead our Maverick Creek efforts this year.
  • Waterways Clean-up:  8:30 – 11:30 a.m.

WHERE:
Maverick Creek on UTSA’s Main campus
