FacilitiesFacilities EPM's Andrew Goodenough Earns Staff Appreciation Award

UTSA’s Staff Council honored Facilities’ Project Coordinator Andrew Goodenough for his strong work ethic and personal integrity. Colleague Elyse Danielle, who nominated him for the award, cited the excellent client service he provided after stepping in to take on her projects during her three-month maternity leave.

Andrew SC “We recognize Andrew for his tremendous contributions to the Department of Facilities Engineering and Project Management,” said Mary Alice Morizen, a Facilities colleague and member of the Staff Council. Mary Alice was one of the five Staff Council members who presented the award to Andrew at the November 7 meeting of the EPM team. “Every day he demonstrates his exceptional his leadership and project management skills along with his dedications and loyalty to his co-workers. He serves as a wonderful example for others at UTSA to follow.”

Offering their thanks and congratulations to Andrew at the meeting were Paul Goodman, Assistant VP for Facilities Engineering and Project Management; Luis Borrero, Assistant VP for Facilities Operations and Maintenance; and Kathryn Pearson, Director of Institutional Projects for EPM.

Paul told the group that Andrew had just reached his 11-year anniversary at UTSA. "He always has a positive attitude and never complains, no matter what challenge he is facing," said Paul. "Andrew has completed many projects at the Downtown Campus, which is a little more difficult than doing projects at the Main Campus due to access. Andrew took on the job of co-coordinator of UTSA’s State Employee Charitable Campaign with Brian Montoya, and they did a fabulous job. Andrew is a marathoner and participated in the Boston Marathon last year. He has already qualified for the upcoming marathon. Andrew was a start in the Dale Carnegie training sessions. His speeches really stood out, especially the one where he ripped his shirt off!"

Andrew expressed his gratitude by saying: "This award is really to all UTSA staff who I work with every day.  I am only as good as the people I work with and the people they work with. UTSA is filled with wonderful people who want to succeed and see others succeed." Andrew is living--and recognizes the importance of living--the Business Affairs Guiding Principles.
