SIF Funds Critical Strategic Efforts

The Strategic Investment Fund (SIF) Committee reviews proposals on a yearly basis to determine how each one supports our advancement toward UTSA's three destinations. The fund allows us to invest in critical strategic efforts that will serve the best interests of the university, and ensures we align our resources with the university's highest priorities.

To ensure these strategic efforts align with the fund's goals, the SIF Committee—which is composed of representatives from academic, administrative and student units—reviews funding requests and submits a prioritized list of proposals to the University Leadership Council. The council evaluates the list and makes recommendations to the Resource Management Team which in turn makes the final award decision.

The SIF Committee spent countless hours developing a process to evaluate each submission. A report outlining the timeline and process is available for review.
