First-Gen Fest

With the First-Gen student population at UTSA being 44% of the student population, the First-Generation & Transfer Student Council coordinates a week-long experience that promotes first-generation community awareness for students, faculty and staff.

Held annually around November 8 in conjunction with First-Generation College Student Celebration Day, First-Gen Fest promotes a culture of visibility for the first-generation community at UTSA that displays the unique strengths, experiences, and achievements that these students bring to the university. This program ends with a one-day First-Gen Institute for faculty & staff that educates university partners in connecting, collaborating, and empowering first-gen students. Join us for a week of celebration, community building, engagement, and fun!
