COVID Update

Roadrunners,

Over the last 20 months we have closely monitored the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on the UTSA community, asking all of you to Do Your Part to help minimize the spread of the virus.

Late last summer, as the Delta variant began to prominently surface in Texas, we made a deliberate decision to prioritize the health and well being of the Roadrunner community by delaying a full return to campus. Since in-person classes resumed in September, we have continued to see positive trends locally, with numbers consistently improving in our community.

Fortunately, San Antonio Metro Health is reporting a downward trend in daily case numbers and has classified the overall risk as low in our area. As such, we don’t anticipate changes to course modalities or academic schedules for the remainder of this semester.

Throughout the holidays, we encourage you to stay focused on keeping our community healthy and safe. We must all continue to take precautions by getting vaccinated, practicing hand hygiene, masking up, and monitoring our own health. Most importantly, please stay home if you are sick.

We will continue our on-campus COVID-19 testingcontact tracing, and confirmed case report tracking throughout the academic year, and will remain especially vigilant in our monitoring as people travel during the Thanksgiving and winter breaks.

Thank you for doing your part to keep yourself and our entire campus community healthy this semester.

With appreciation,

Taylor Eighmy
