Virtual Private Network (VPN)GlobalProtect

UTSA's VPN service provides a secure connection to the campus network from any location as long as the computing device has an Internet connection. Faculty, staff, and select students with a current, active relationship with the University can use VPN. As of July 19, 2023, the UTSA VPN service is accessible exclusively via a downloaded app called GlobalProtect.

Please note: You only need to download the GlobalProtect app ONE TIME per device used to access the VPN. Once you have installed the app, you do not need to visit vpn.utsa.edu again.

If you are using a UTSA-issued computer, you should already have the GlobalProtect app installed. Follow this link for access instructions for UTSA-issued devices

If you'd like to access the UTSA VPN service on a personal device, follow these instructions to download and install the GlobalProtect app.

If you used the new UTSA VPN service prior to the July 19 launch, you will need to follow these  instructions to change the portal URL to vpn.utsa.edu.

For more information, please visit: Frequently Asked Questions about the UTSA VPN.

Note: Use of the UTSA VPN is not supported on mobile devices.
