Zero Waste Apply Now Sustainability offers student employment in two areas: EcoReps and the Bike Program. Applications are open to all majors and years. You must be motivated, reliable and dedicated to achieving the goals established between you and your supervisor. EcoReps or Bike Program student assistants are paid $12.50 per hour, with a weekly time commitment of up to 19 hours. You must have a work-study award to apply. If you are uncertain about your work-study eligibility, contact your financial aid advisor through the UTSA One Stop Enrollment Center. Our work-study program provides motivated individuals the platform, connections, support, and tools needed to champion environmental issues at UTSA and within our larger community.

EcoReps/Sustainable Programs Assistants 

EcoReps are student program assistants in the Office of Sustainability. You will carry out meaningful, significant projects with the guidance of our office. We work on a variety of project categories, including, but not limited to, energy conservation, promoting eco-friendly transportation, emissions reduction, education, community outreach, promoting green living, upcycling, waste reduction, water conservation, habitat preservation, grant writing, etc. We will work with you to identify and define the scope of your project. Bike Program Employees

Students employed by the Bike Program support and enhance initiatives aimed to promote biking across the university community. You will be responsible for learning and assisting with several functions. Apply now .

  • Bike Repair: Students assist with operations at the  Tito Bradshaw Bike Repair Shop  on our Main and/or Downtown campuses. You will help stock and maintain the bike shed and  Mobile Bike Repair Shop , as well as assist at various events throughout the semester.  
  • Bikeshare Maintenance: Our office has a bikeshare program through which students, faculty and staff can rent a bicycle free of charge on an hourly basis. Bikeshare stations are positioned throughout campus, and riders can rent and return at any location. These specially branded bikes and their kiosks need to be checked and maintained regularly. We are seeking highly dependable individuals to maintain the bikeshare system.
