Leadership and Service Special Interest Housing

Located within UTSA's Housing, the Leadership and Service floor is a community that will provide many opportunities for students living on the floor to develop as leaders through service.

Throughout the academic year, students will participate in various activities and events that will help them make essential connections between leadership and service.

  • Contact UTSA Housing and Residence Life about on-campus housing
  • Complete on-campus housing documents and check that you are interested in living on the Leadership & Service Floor
  • If there is availability on the floor, UTSA Housing and Residence Life will assign you to a room on the floor

  • Attend the required Orientation Meeting with the entire Leadership & Service Floor Community
    • The date, time, and location will be sent through email once you have been placed on the floor
  • Actively participate in a minimum of 4 community opportunities each semester which include:
    • 2 of the opportunities must be leadership focused and can include:
      • Student Leadership Center programs and events, UTSA campus community events and programs, Floor programs and events
    • 2 of the opportunities must be service focused and can include:
      • Volunteer Services department projects, programs, and events, UTSA campus wide community
  • Residents will be provided a monthly calendar of events to choose from>

  • The Active Citizen workshop
  • Demo Kitchen events in partnership with the UTSA Rec Center
  • True Colors workshop
  • Financial Aid and Academic Advising workshops
  • Various Leadership Development programs and events
  • Blanket Making Party Service Project
  • Roadrunners Giveback
  • Outdoor Adventure Day
  • Floor Socials
  • Floor Volunteer Opportunities
