Chief Enterprise Development Officer

Dear Business Affairs,

Earlier today, Dr. Eighmy sent a campus-wide communication sharing an update about organizational changes within Business Affairs and my expanded role as Senior Vice President for Business Affairs and Chief Enterprise Development Officer. Over the past year, I have worked closely with senior leadership at the university to consider our vision for the future as part of the Strategic Plan Refresh. In the process of identifying our key areas of focus, we are excited to restructure the division of Business Affairs to better align with this vision of the future.

The changes we are making are aimed at better serving our students, our campus and our Roadrunner community. I believe these organizational adjustments will provide more streamlined services while also positioning us for the future of UTSA. I hope you will share in my excitement as we make these changes together.

First, I’d like to share that Administration & Operations will welcome Campus Services to their team. This move allows for greater synergy among the services we provide to our campus community, and I am excited to see the Administration & Operations area grow and welcome our Campus Services colleagues. Additionally, Administration & Operations will launch a new Strategic Services area, providing support for process improvement, solution design and transformation efforts. Finally, the Facilities Business Service Center (BSC) team will join the Business Affairs BSC team, and the Business Affairs BSC will also begin providing services to Financial Affairs. Mary Hernandez will continue to provide leadership over Administration & Operations in her expanded role.

The areas of Real Estate, Construction and Planning and Facilities will merge to form a new, unified department. Over the past several months, these teams have worked together under the leadership of Corrina Green, who will continue to oversee the new united team as Senior Associate Vice President.

Financial Affairs will welcome Business Contracts, which will relocate from Administration & Operations. Financial Affairs is also taking this opportunity to realign several of their functional teams. Sheri Hardison will continue to provide leadership for Financial Affairs and will assume the role of Chief Financial Officer. I know Sheri will provide thoughtful and careful stewardship of our university's finances.

Our fourth main service area in Business Affairs, Public Safety, will continue to be led by Chief Stephanie Schoenborn, who provides invaluable guidance and leadership for her team. Additionally, we are pleased to welcome Angel Lemmonds, who will serve as our new Assistant Chief of Police.

I understand that while exciting, change can sometimes result in feelings of uncertainty. I want to assure everyone that while we are making adjustments to the structure of the Business Affairs division, we are not reducing any staff or eliminating positions as a result of these changes. The adjustments will go into effect Sept. 1 and involve moving teams within functional areas to better streamline services.

I invite everyone to join us for a Business Affairs Let’s Chat! Virtual Town Hall on Aug. 10 at 3 p.m. to learn more about these important updates. In the meantime, I encourage you to review our updated organizational chart to learn more about our new structure. Throughout the fall semester, we will continue to evaluate and explore future opportunities for synergy and efficiency, and we will share updates as they occur.

Thank you for your continued support as we work to serve UTSA and San Antonio!

Sincerely,
