University Marketing & Special Projects
University Marketing & Special Projects advances UTSA's institutional brand and leadership priorities while serving as a centralized resource for the campus community. Our work hinges on strategic partnerships with units across campus to support student recruitment and retention, alumni engagement and strong brand recognition among the university’s many stakeholder audiences.
The teams within University Marketing include:
Presidential Collateral
The Presidential Collateral and Special Projects team works closely with the President's Office to support the needs of the university's executive leadership, including the production of brand-aligned collateral and digital communications.
Special Projects
The Special Projects team produces high-level university events and oversees VIP hospitality functions.
Creative Services
The Creative Services team provides concept development, design, layout, art direction and production on a range of projects across all media, as well as videography services. The team advises other communicators on campus to help ensure the look and feel of the university’s brand is maintained.
Web Services
The Web Services team maintains the infrastructure for the UTSA.edu home page, UTSA’s top-level landing pages and supporting reputational web pages. In addition, the team provides centralized, university-wide web support within the university’s distributed ownership framework where UTSA colleges, departments, programs and units maintain their respective websites.
Digital Assets Management
University Marketing oversees UTSA’s Marketing Resource Library, which contains high-quality photography of the university’s people, places and activities, as well as video B-roll, logos, templates and other graphical elements.
Project Prioritization
The projects we take on within University Marketing are prioritized based on the extent to which they directly support institutional priorities as identified in UTSA’s strategic plan. They include:
- Projects to advance UTSA’s brand at the institutional level as (outlined in the university’s marketing plan)
- Projects to advance Presidential initiatives or by direct request of the President
- Projects to advance University Relations initiatives within Government Relations, Community Relations and Strategic Communications
- Projects in service to Presidential direct-report offices, including Legal Affairs, Institutional Compliance & Risk Management and Auditing & Consulting Services.
Consultant Services
We welcome and encourage collaborations with division and unit-based marketing, communications, web and special event staff from across campus. While we generally are not able to take on projects from campus units that fall outside of the prioritized areas listed above, we are happy to provide resources, guidelines, pathways and outsourcing recommendations for design work, web development, advertising plans, photography, video production, event management and more.
