Saturday, February 18, 2017
Welcome Basura Bashers! Basura Bash is a one-day, all-volunteer event to clean the San Antonio Watershed. For the past 22 years volunteers clean area waterways, and we invite you to join us for the 23rd Annual Basura Bash Waterways Cleanup.
The basurabash.org website provides additional information about the various waterways that will be cleaned on February 18. You can find out everything you need to know about this year's event on the Event tab. The event is 100% powered by volunteers. Let’s all clean it like we mean it!
Here's what you need to know to help pitch in with the Basura Bash Annual Waterways Clean-up Event:
Volunteers will collect trash from the banks of San Antonio area waterways. Items include recyclables, tires, metals, appliances, home items, and more.
Trash is carried to our rivers and creeks by storm drainage, run-off, and careless human beings. This causes flooding, risking lives and damaging property.
- Saturday, February 18, 2017
- Registration: 8 a.m. (check with your clean-up leader for your site)
- Waterways Clean-up: 8:30 – 11:30 a.m.
UTSA volunteers are participating at:

Area extends from Hill Country Trailhead behind Hill Country apartments at UTSA Blvd/Valero Blvd down the Leon Creek Greenway to Hausman bridge
This location is so popular, they're not accepting new volunteers.
