Congratulations to University Excellence Awards winner!
Congratulations to the Chera Finkbiner who received the Leadership Award at this year’s University Excellence Awards (UEA) ceremony! As Director of Business Operations, Chera leads the Business Service Center team within Business Affairs. The Leadership Award recognizes an individual who has promoted departmental and the university’s mission and goals through actions and job performance, demonstrated exceptional leadership ability, and fostered a positive and motivating work environment.
Chera’s colleagues describe her as a personable and patient leader who inspires collaboration. She instills a sense of pride in her team and keeps them motivated with constant professional development opportunities. In her nomination for the award, working alongside her is described as the definition of being a part of a dream team, with everyone working together toward a shared goal.
“We are so proud of Chera’s accomplishments,” said Mary Hernandez, senior associate vice president of administration and operations. “It is such a thrill to see the hard work of our A&O team pay off through university-wide recognition, and I congratulate all of the nominees from Business Affairs.”
The UEA awards are an annual celebration of the outstanding members of the UTSA community who have made a positive impact over the last year.
