Business Affairs Structure Update, July 1, 2018

Lane Brinson Promoted to Director of Purchasing

Effective July 1, 2018, the UTSA Purchasing Office and the Business Contracts Office will begin reporting to Barbara Centeno, Deputy Officer for Business Affairs. Barbara now oversees Human Resources, Facilities, Business Contracts and Purchasing. Lane Brinson has been promoted to Director of Purchasing, effective July 1. He and Director of Business Contracts Robert Dickens both now report directly to Barbara Centeno.

Lane Brinson, who recently served as assistant then associate director of Purchasing, started his UTSA career as Purchasing manager in June 2007. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a concentration in marketing, from Angelo State University and is a Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.).

Dave Riker will return to his previous position as Associate Vice President for Facilities. Serving UTSA for 13 years, Dave has led a team of 250 facilities professionals in providing full facilities management services from basic housekeeping and minor maintenance to major renovation and multi-million dollar construction projects. He oversees the Business and Customer Services, Engineering and Project Management, Planning and Development, and Operations and Maintenance teams. His department also houses the UTSA Art Collection.

Paul Goodman, who joined UTSA in 2000, will return to his position of Assistant Vice President for Facilities Engineering and Project Management.

“We appreciate the support that Dave and Paul have provided during this transition period,” said Vice President for Business Affairs Kathryn Funk-Baxter.
