Kathryn Funk-Baxter, CPA
Vice President for Business Affairs 

Ms. Kathryn Funk-Baxter became the Vice President for Business Affairs at The University of Texas at San Antonio in 2015. Prior to this she served as the Executive Vice President for Finance and Administration at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. In her current position she oversees the business affairs areas of Administration, Budget and Financial Planning, Business Contracts, Financial Affairs, Facilities, Human Resources, Public Safety, Purchasing, Real Estate and Business Information Services with a total of 31 departments within her division.

Prior to coming to UTSA she spent more than 21 years working in various financial leadership roles at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. Prior to this, she worked in several progressively responsible accounting positions including assistant controller for Alamo Federal Savings and Controller for TOR Minerals.

Ms. Funk-Baxter received her BBA from Southwest Texas State University in 1979 and her MBA from the University of Texas at San Antonio in 1988. Ms. Funk-Baxter has been a Certified Public Accountant since 1983.

In addition to her work experience, she has been active in Rotary International Corpus Christi CPA chapter and Southern Association of College & University Business Officers (SACUBO). She was Past President for the Corpus Christi CPA Chapter in 2009-2010 and a member of the SACUBO Board for several years.
