Congratulations to University Excellence Awards winners

May 16, 2022

Congratulations to the Business Affairs employees who received a University Excellence Award! These awards celebrate outstanding members of the UTSA community who have made a positive difference in their work environment.

This year’s Leadership Award went to Sgt. Molly Ralph from Public Safety. Sgt. Ralph was recognized for consistently going above and beyond in her role with the UTSA police department, serving as not only a leader, but also a valuable mentor to her team members. By taking the time to understand her team members and learn their strengths, she provides positive and effective guidance.

Additionally, Sgt. Ralph has demonstrated that she is highly supportive of her employees and places trust in their abilities, which empowers them and motivates them to succeed. Sgt. Ralph’s ability to inspire excellence in others fosters an energetic and encouraging work environment, making her a great leader and a force for positivity in her department.

The Team Spirit Award went to the Pandemic Response Team, which is comprised of staff from Administration and Operations who are responsible for facilitating UTSA’s COVID-19 response and recovery: Lauren Beaver and Elyse Brown from Business Affairs Strategic Communications, Jolynn Demarest from Occupational Health, and Andrea Fernandez and Kareem Salama from Recovery Operations.

As UTSA returned to regular campus operations this year, the Pandemic Response Team coordinated effective systems and processes to keep the Roadrunner community safe, including facilitation of efficient, affordable and accessible COVID-19 testing, up-to-date COVID-19 reporting, and on-campus clinics for vaccines and boosters. The team’s success in these efforts is thanks in large part to their collaboration, communication and cooperation with each other, their colleagues and the UTSA community as a whole.

Congratulations to this year’s winners and nominees!
