Dear Business Affairs Familia,

This has been a busy and fast semester! Throughout the fall, I have enjoyed spending more time on the Southwest Campus, seeing many of you at UTSA football games and enjoying special events together such as Hot Chocolate and Holiday Cheer last week.

Later this month, I look forward to seeing many of you at your upcoming area holiday celebrations. I hope you will each have time to connect with one another and reflect on the successes within our areas. In the coming week, I will also share an update on our Points of Pride website. Each semester we focus on these points of pride as a way to celebrate the many accomplishments throughout Business Affairs and recognize our impact on the larger UTSA community.

Looking forward to the spring, there are several exciting events coming up in January. First, I am excited for the grand opening of San Pedro I, our new School of Data Science and National Security Collaboration Center, in early January. You can also look forward to a Let’s Chat! Town Hall for Business Affairs early in the semester to discuss our ongoing strategic planning efforts and to announce the Divisional award winner for 2022.

Thank you for another successful semester, Business Affairs!

Sincerely,

holiday celebrations

Annual Holiday Celebrations

Over the next two weeks, teams throughout Business Affairs will enjoy their annual holiday celebrations. These celebrations ensure we have an opportunity to discuss the important work happening in each department and celebrate our accomplishments, while also taking time to relax and enjoy one another’s company! Business Affairs team members should check their UTSA email for additional details on area celebrations.

roadrunner walk

Join us for Roadrunner Walk

Join us as we celebrate our fall graduates at Roadrunner Walk, which will be held Friday, Dec. 9 at 3:30 p.m. on the Student Union Paseo. This event gives graduating students a chance to have a memorable walk on campus to celebrate an important milestone and their achievements. Similar to Commencement Drive, campus partners are encouraged to attend and cheer on our graduates from alongside the Roadrunner Walk path.

COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics (Including Boosters!)

Recovery Operations is hosting an on-campus COVID-19 vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 8 in the Student Union Denman Ballroom (SU 2.01.28). Novavax vaccines as well as bivalent Pfizer boosters will be available. All are welcome to attend, and no appointment is necessary. Vaccine availability is first come, first served and while supplies last.

walking trails

There are eight walking trails on the Main Campus and two on the Downtown Campus. Walking outdoors is good for the body and mind. Explore trails on the UTSA Wellness website.
