BA Connect Newsletter - August 2024
Veronica Salazar
Executive Vice President for Business Affairs
and Chief Enterprise Development Officer
Dear Business Affairs,
I enjoyed seeing so many of you at last month’s virtual Coffee Break. Hearing about your summer adventures was a great way to connect before the busy fall semester begins. We will have many more opportunities to connect throughout the fall, including the upcoming Let's Chat! Virtual Town Hall.
As we prepare to welcome students back to campus later this month, I extend my appreciation for your outstanding service and teamwork in creating the best experience for our community. Business Affairs plays an important role in helping Roadrunners enjoy a safe and welcoming experience on campus – your efforts are truly key to the success of our students, faculty and staff.
Thank you for your efforts to support another outstanding new semester!
Sincerely,
Veronica Salazar
Executive Vice President for Business Affairs
and Chief Enterprise Development Officer
Explore the Employee Success Center Virtual Hub
Earlier this summer, People Excellence announced the launch of the Employee Success Center, which provides a centralized source for employee information, resources and services. The virtual hub is now live on the People Excellence website! Check it out for easy access to a wide variety of resources, including information about professional development opportunities, employee discounts, wellness programs and more! A physical space for the center is in the planning phases, with more information to come at a later date - stay tuned!
Parking Permits Now Available for Purchase
Purchase your parking permit for next academic year today! A wide variety of permits are available to suit your needs and budget, including surface, garage, garage reserved and evening-only permits. Buy your permit now and pay later by choosing payroll deduction as your payment method. Deductions begin with the September pay cycle. For questions about parking permits, contact Campus Services.
Performance Management Year-End Processes
Performance management year-end self-evaluations are due Friday, Aug. 9. Be sure to finalize your self-evaluation by marking it “Complete” in PeopleSoft by this date. This allows for timely completion of the manager evaluation, which is due Friday, Aug. 30. To support Roadrunner staff during the year-end process, the Employee Success Center offers a variety of online resources, including the Performance Management Rating Guide, helpful tips, and training session recordings. For questions, contact the Employee Success Center.
Employee Volunteers Needed for Move-In Days
Help welcome our incoming and returning Roadrunners to their on-campus residence this fall. Housing and Residence Life is looking for volunteers to assist with resident move-in from Tuesday, Aug. 20 to Friday, Aug. 23. Volunteers can serve in a variety of different roles, such as greeting students and their families, helping give directions, distributing carts/bins, passing out water or carrying light objects. To learn more about this volunteer opportunity and sign up for time slot(s) that work for you, view the event registration details on GivePulse. For questions, email Campus Services.
This Month in Wellness: National Breastfeeding Awareness Month
August is National Breastfeeding Awareness Month. As a Texas DSHS-designated Mother-Friendly Worksite, UTSA offers resources and facilities to support Roadrunner parents while they are in the breastfeeding stage of their baby’s nutritional journey. These include on-campus lactation rooms as well as benefits for UT SELECT members such as counseling, support services and discounts on supplies from covered providers.
