BA Connect Newsletter - December 2025

Veronica Salazar
Senior Executive Vice President for Enterprise Development and Transformation
Dear Business Affairs,
This December marks the close of a truly historic year for our university. From major milestones like our integration with UT Health, to the exciting new buildings, programs and initiatives we’ve built together, our team continues to collaborate to support our growing community. I am deeply appreciative of the incredible work and dedication each one of you has shown this year.
With the holiday season here, it’s time to celebrate! The annual Hot Chocolate and Holiday Cheer event kicks off the season of festive gatherings. I hope you will join us on Thursday, Dec. 4, to enjoy warm drinks, decorate cookies, create special holiday cards and more. Additionally, each area is getting ready to host their own holiday celebrations. These fun and meaningful events invite you to relax and connect with your teams while enjoying delicious treats and activities.
As we enjoy these festive traditions together and I prepare for my upcoming retirement this month, I hope you will join me in celebrating this career milestone as I step into a new chapter. The President’s Office has planned a university-wide celebration on Dec. 5, and I hope to see you all there!
Wishing each of you a safe, relaxing and joyful holiday season!
Sincerely,
Veronica Salazar
Senior Executive Vice President for Enterprise Development and Transformation

The Business Affairs Connect Newsletter Is Under Construction!
As we move forward and our division continues to evolve, we are taking time to thoughtfully evaluate the Business Affairs Connect program — including this newsletter — to determine the best way to provide you with divisional news, updates and more. Starting in January, we will pause sending the newsletter, which means you won’t see us in your inbox for a little while. We encourage you to read the UT San Antonio This Week newsletter each Monday for important employee news and updates. When the time is right, we look forward to returning with a refreshed newsletter that reflects our next adventure. Until then, birds up, Roadrunners!

Celebrating Veronica’s Impact and Looking Ahead
Last month, Andrea Marks shared important updates for Business Affairs as we look toward the new year. With Veronica’s upcoming retirement, certain aspects of functional integration will be expedited, including the key priority of forming a leadership team for the division. To support this transition and help facilitate cross-campus initiatives, Liz Rockstroh now reports to Andrea as chief of staff, while also continuing to lead Administrative Services for the academic campuses. Additionally, next month the Integration Management Office will begin reporting under Andrea’s organizational structure. In January, Andrea will host a virtual town hall to share updates, announce the new leadership team and connect with our newly integrated division. Check your inbox to read more about these updates in Andrea’s email from Nov. 18.

Wellness Tip: Take Advantage of Available Services
As the year winds down and we prepare for the fresh start to the new year, remember to prioritize your wellbeing. The university’s AllOne Health Employee Assistance Program (EAP) offers confidential, free counseling, stress management resources and guidance to improve work-life balance. Additionally, be sure to take advantage of the various resources and programming offered by our Wellness program. Remember, taking care of your mental and physical wellbeing is the best gift you can give yourself this season.

Stay Connected With the Strategic Communications Team
During this exciting time of change, remember that the Business Affairs Strategic Communications team is here to support your department’s communications, marketing and web needs. To engage our services, reach out to your area’s communications point of contact, who will submit your request through our Basecamp request process.
