Deadlines for Different Change Types to Become Effective by Term

This table shows the effective deadlines that should be used in proposals for different academic program change types and course change types, including new academic program proposals and new courses and subject codes. These dates, alongside the Catalog Revision Timelines Listed below, should be considered when creating change proposals or proposing new programs and courses. Proposals should be submitted to their respective workflows before the given deadlines so they can progress in time to meet the selected effective term. Change types that are listed as "Fall only: within catalog editing cycle" may only be submitted to the workflow between October and April of the respective undergraduate or graduate catalog editing cycle. Mid-catalog changes of this type will have to wait for the following respective catalog editing cycle.

Please note that most content cannot be published after the census date of a given semester. New courses created for a semester after the first Fall semester of a given catalog will not be shown in the live catalog. These deadlines are in place due to UT System Policy, Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board regulations, The Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges' accreditation regulations, and institutional policy and best practices.

Catalog Off-Cycle Updates

The catalogs are published on an alternating two-year cycle in electronic format only. The online catalog is the official version and thus must remain a predominantly static document for the duration of the two years. Once published, very limited changes may be made before the next catalog revision cycle.
