WISHES

Wellbeing Improvement Survey for Higher Education Settings

UTSA is a proud member of the Texas Higher Education (THE) Collaborative for Wellbeing.

The purpose the THE Collaborative for Wellbeing is to:

  • Improve student wellbeing now to improve lives for a lifetime
  • Remove wellbeing related barriers to learning, academic achievement and overall student success
  • Narrow wellbeing disparities among student populations

The Wellbeing Improvement Survey for Higher Education Settings or WISHES is a tool used on campus to facilitate our learning and improvement in student wellbeing.

UTSA is administering WISHES to random, non-repeated samples of students throughout the 2024-2025 academic year.  The survey covers topics such as overall health, psychological distress, suffering/struggling, belonging, resilience, binge drinking, health and academic risks, engagement in extracurricular activities, and having friends, mentors or professors who care about them.

Invited students will receive an email from Melissa Hernandez with their unique link to the survey. Responses are confidential and information collected will only be shared in aggregate.  Students can also choose to enter a drawing for UTSA swag.  Questions about wishes can be directed to DOS@utsa.edu
