Dear Business Affairs,
It’s hard to believe the spring semester is already coming to a close. As the semester winds down, we have many exciting events on the horizon to celebrate our graduates and our accomplishments throughout Business Affairs!
On Thursday, May 18, at 4 p.m. we will celebrate graduates during Roadrunner Walk in the Paseo. You are invited to join our Business Affairs group to cheer for UTSA students.
The following day on Friday, May 19, we will host the Business Affairs Employee Forum in the H-E-B Student Union Ballroom from 10:30 a.m. - noon. Please join us for refreshments, prizes, a talent show and more!
Finally, commencement will take place on Saturday, May 20, with ceremonies at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
I am so appreciative of the hard work you have done this semester and I want to thank you all for your continued efforts to support our Roadrunner community. I look forward to celebrating with you this month!

University Excellence Awards Winners
Congratulations to Chera Finkbiner, Director of Business Operations for the Business Service Center, who received the Leadership Award at this year’s University Excellence Awards ceremony! This annual celebration recognizes outstanding members of the UTSA community who made a positive impact over the last year. Congratulations to Chera—and to all of this year’s winners and nominees!
Business Affairs Employee Forum
This year’s Business Affairs Employee Forum is coming up! Join us on Friday, May 19, from 10:30 a.m. to noon in the H-E-B Student Union Ballroom. We encourage everyone to arrive early for refreshments and networking, which will start at 10 a.m. This event is a meaningful opportunity to gather, reflect on our successes and prepare for the academic year ahead. Please check your email and be sure to RSVP by May 5 if you are able to join us!
Celebrate During Roadrunner Walk
Help us celebrate our spring graduates at Roadrunner Walk on Thursday, May 18 at 4 p.m. on the Student Union Paseo. Graduating students will enjoy a memorable walk on campus to celebrate their achievements and an important milestone in their lives. Look for the Business Affairs tent and cheer alongside colleagues from our division – we hope to see you there!
Join Staff Senate for the Great Staff Appreciation Event
Join Staff Senate and your colleagues from around the university to celebrate the Great Staff Appreciation Event! This year’s festivities will be held on Tuesday, May 16 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the H-E-B Student Union Ballroom. Stop by to enjoy a nacho and taco bar, a live DJ, a photo booth and fun giveaways!
Intersession Parking
As a reminder, parking rules and regulations remain in effect during finals, May 4-10. Intersession parking begins May 11 and continues through May 29. During intersession, you may park in unmarked resident or commuter spaces, regardless of permit type—or even without a permit! Parking rules and regulations remain in effect for all other parking spaces at all times.
Register for Fiscal Year-End Workshops
With the fiscal year-end approaching, Financial Affairs is offering three workshops in June to help departments get ready. Workshops are on June 5 (new employees) and June 1 and June 15 (refreshers). The workshops include important year-end deadlines and closing processes, as well as changes to business processes and financial guidelines .
